The University of Allahabadfamiliarly known as the Allahabad University, located in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, India was established on 23 September 1887. This fourth oldest modern university in India originates from  the Muir Central College, which is named after Lt. Governor of North-Western Provinces and Sir William Muir in 1876, who proposed the idea of a Central University at Allahabad which later progressed as the present university. Also known as the "Oxford of the East"It began as an affiliating and examining body for the graduate as well as postgraduate degrees with a classical orientation providing various courses of arts, commerce, science, law etc.Precisely in 1961 “The Department of Psychology” was established in the university by Prof. DurganandSinha. Prof. Sinha and currently provides various couses and facilities in the stream of psychology.

Test Patterns

Admission Test Paper will consist of 100 Multiple Choice Questions. For each correct answer 02 (two) marks will be awarded and for every wrong answer 0.5 (Half) mark would be deducted. . First Fifty Questions will be of General Awareness, General English, General Hindi and Mental Ability. They are compulsory for each student. There will be Two Set of 50 Questions related to Subjects which the candidate has offered. If a candidate has offered only one subject he/she will have to solve 100 questions i.e. 50 Compulsory and 50 of the subject in 90 minutes. However the candidate who has offered two subjects he/she will have to solve 150 questions i.e. 50 compulsory 50 of one subject and 50 of second subjects in 120 minutes.

The applicant must have scored minimum of 50% marks in 10+2 and 55% marks in bachelors

For the eligible students there is an online entrance test comprising of two sections

The first section is a common post- graduate entrance test  which is a general aptitude test and the second section is of the subject proficiency test.
