Gujarat Forensic Sciences University (GFSU)

Gujarat Forensic Sciences University (GFSU) is a state university in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. It is the first university in the world solely dedicated to forensic and investigative science. It was created by Act 17 passed in the Gujarat Legislative Assembly on 30 September 2008. M.Phil. Clinical Psychology (M.Phil.-CP) is a course conducted and monitored as per rules of Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI). RCI has recognized the IBS, GFSU for conduction M.Phil.-CP course from 2011 onwards while other courses are duly recognized by University Grants Commission. IBS has established Buddha Psychological Services Centre (BPSC), which provides consultation and treatment services, in terms of diagnostic; therapeutic and rehabilitative services, to mentally challenged individuals and offenders in both civil and criminal cases on outdoor basis. IBS is also providing counselling services (Buddha Counselling Centre) at Sabarmati Central Prison of Ahmedabad, for jail inmates and also impart student training in Juvenile and Observatory homes in and around the vicinity. Efforts are in progress to apply socially and individually relevant methods for the rehabilitation of juveniles and prisoners.

Selection Process

Admissions will be based on the merits obtained in the Entrance Test and interview conducted by the Gujarat Forensic Sciences University. A merit will be calculated as under- Entrance Examination and Interview: 100% weightage. Questions on different branches of Psychology and Research Methodology will be asked in the Entrance test.
